DELL Update For Windows 10 (DELL U4W10) installed on DELL Inspiron 15-3576 with Windows 10 v1909 build 18363 535 18th Dec 2019 the program updated itself from v3 0 1 (installed on 28 11 2018) to v3 1 0 so it is obviously an active app About two weeks ago I uninstalled three apps that were “DELL SupportAssist” or related to it

Dell support assist can be uninstalled and reinstalled Open the dell website > enter product or serial number > view drivers > confirm the listing Use control panel for un-installation The Dell support assist is useful for drivers, updating BIOS, recalls, etc So update drivers and BIOS before uninstalling the software

Just review the Dell web site for upgrades for your Service Tag Wow! Are you certain the Dell SA was the BSoD culprit? i e , did you use the SA to perform a task that then caused the BSoD? I recently used the HP version of SA and it saved me from an occasional BSoD by informing me of a driver update

The thing is, Dell's SupportAssist app is itself well-known for actually causing problems 'cos of its CPU load from startup Easy check? Uninstall it or stop it from running automatically from startup If you later think you need it, re-install it from the Dell support website for your model using the Dell Service Tag for your device Hope this helps

Dell Update is a usefull program to check that your drivers, BIOS etc are current It should be available to run a check on demand, but really has no need to load at startup or to run in real-time
