If I understood correctly, you are running the client on a virtual machine in the same PC I would suggest to make sure you can reach the port by executing a "tcping" or "telnet" to port 2991

Pay attention to the memory usage column, there should be a jump in memory when the client is ready to connect to the server You could also try downloading a tool like procexp and checking to see if there is a connection made at all between the client and server

I ran the netstat -a command and got [::] both during and before listening on port 500 I have entered in the gateway ip into the connection tab in the build client as well Any help would be appreciated
