MKVToolNix comes with with a README md, a README Windows md (instructions how to compile MKVToolNix on Linux for use on Windows), a Contributor Covenant Code of Conduct and man pages for all programs: mkvmerge, mkvinfo, mkvextract, mkvpropedit and MKVToolNix GUI

Instructions for building libEBML, libMatroska and MKVToolNix itself are part of the README md file You can either build from a release tarball or from the current sources in my Git repository

MKVToolNix contains a lot of test cases in order to detect regressions before they're released Regressions include both compilation issues as well as changes from expected program behavior As mentioned in section 2 6 , MKVToolNix comes with a set of unit tests based on the Google Test library in the `tests unit` sub-directory that you can run

2021-06-02: The packages for AlmaLinux, CentOS Stream and Fedora have been split into two packages to match what the distributions are doing: a non-GUI package "mkvtoolnix" and the GUI-only package "mkvtoolnix-gui"
