Re: Can Quick Detach rings really hold zero? I think that rings that can be repeatably torqued hold zero better than levers-even if its just "finger tight then 1 4 turn more"

Re: Can i remove a scope from rail and keep zero? As stated above use the same pictinny slots and must use the same torque setting A bore sighter with a grid system is helpful too, it will verify any shift if you have the original reticle location logged

This may be a stupid question, but here goes If I zero my rifle at sea level, do I need to re-zero my rifle at let’s say 5000 feet, I’m hunting in the mountains Does the zero change, I don’t think so Do you only check it for peace of mind, in case the scope got bumped etc

Yes, you should check and re-zero any time you remove any optic of any sort Having said that, while it's reasonable for it be off enough to require an adjustment, it shouldn't be "waaaaay off" If it's super off, then that might be an indication that it wasn't properly attached either the first time it was zeroed or when it was reattached

The dot is adjusted and zeroed with the windage and elevation screws which are mechanical adjustments All the battery does is light the diode so changing the battery will not alter the zero There are some red dot sights that have to be removed from the gun to change the battery so you want to recheck your zero after reinstalling them but the DPP allows battery change s while it is still

I have a DTA and found for re-zero the TT is the fastest, however you can get a little confused at where you are because you can only go down 5 mil at a time if you need to go backwards So if you try to re-zero but just moving the turrets without shooting you might get a little lost The razor 2 and AMG have probably the best for switch barrels

That said, IDK where you're getting "3ft high at 100" ? My gun ammo setup with the same 15yrd zero puts me only 1 2" high @ 100yrds The bullet does start to drop quickly beyond that though, so I would be about 2 5ft low @ 200yrds, one hell of a holdover (but still probably a doable morter-shot on a man-sized steel plate with a few tries lol)
