If Smash 6 is getting announced then probably that it exists unless Sakurai wants to make long term announcements like in Brawl and Smash 4 If Switch 2 Edition of Ultimate is happening instead then Sakurai is probably just supervising

While Smash is considered something else by Nintendo because of it being a crossover game According to the title screens, the first three games are shared by HAL and Nintendo while Smash 4 onwards is fully owned by Nintendo

If Smash 6 cuts characters, that probably means that a bunch of the veterans will probably end up as DLC Then there's also the posibility of them diping on already represented series as DLC, like they did with Fire Emblem, Final Fantasy and Xenoblade in Ultimate DLC

Seems like Smash is the only time Nintendo might give a damn about TGAs Given the cross-franchise nature of Smash, including third parties, it does make sense to reveal them there and Sephiroth was the last November December esque time to show off a Fighter's Pass character given Sora would be announced in October of 2021

Smash has always had a higher number of base game newcomers than your average fighter Even before the days of DLC, a lot of traditional fighting game sequels would only have 5 or less newcomers
