Check JEI, but I'm pretty sure you can do a few things to get slime balls that don't need the slimes If you get any slime balls, you can use it to make a slime gate, from gateways to eternity, which spawns a bunch of them, and gives bonus loot for killing all that spawn Then you can go on to make a mob farm, mob simulator, or any number of other things
