Telstra second level people even rang the client back to tell them it was definitely a problem with Outlook, and Apple mail, and Thunderbird so basically the password you can use with Webmail, is guaranteed only for Webmail and an app-specific password is required for desktop apps

I get through the login password part then it comes up as Logging you out of MyTelstra and just hangs with the spinning icon never had a problem with their Email until they switched over to Authentication last year and this is i think my 6th time with a problem

I have it on reliable advice from the Telstra Business Technology Centre in Brisbane that bigpond com email accounts are being phased out around May 2022 Anyon

I called Telstra and they had to manually reset the password and migrate the email account from a legacy server This has all occurred but now I can't access the email via IMAP or POP3 I can login to the account via Telstra Webmail and I can see and receive emails but I can't access with any external provider Any ideas?

I told them to sit back and wait for Telstra to resolve the issue themselves, but their concern was that one account was working and the other was not They ended up making their way into a Telstra shop today which ended up in Telstra resetting my mother's email password, which appeared to fix the issue

I have a similar problem but with Telstra NBN over HFC I had a couple of e-mail addresses (there was one more but not sure what happened to it) linked to my BigPond account when it was still a cable broadband service and before it was migrated to the NBN
