For those who are familiar with Pelican's recent model lines, what say you? Protector series, Air series, or Storm series? Info seems to indicate the Protector and Air series have stainless steel in the axles and locks for better corrosion resistance, while the the Protector has aluminum

I used trailer hitch coupler locks on my big pelican cases I used to have to ship them UPS for work and never had an issue With the locks UPS has taken chunks out of the cases but all made it through multiple trips The opening of the lock just clears the pelican lock tabs You can’t see any of the lock post at all when using these

Pelican for when transport is back of a truck (and yes, I have a cable and lock permanently in the bed, as quick-run-inside securing), gun will be left outside on range overnight or even for extended periods when weather is awful, etc Similar for other guns, have soft cases and bags for various guns, many have hard over-cases

Gents (and ladies), was at Harbor Freight over the weekend and saw they had a variety of Pelican case clones Quality seemed to be pretty good and for the price they are certainly worth considering It appeared they run deals on them from time to time as well, most were 20% off at the location

Re: Pelican Cases vs Plano Cases For plano, I've only handled the cheaper cases The higher end one looks fine but you can always trust a pelican case Pelican just tends to be more expensive I haven't had any issues with cheaper cases so if you want to save money go with the plano, if you want a bombproof case, go with pelican If you expect the case to take a lot of abuse I would go with

Re: Pelican vs Storm case It does include foam and for some reason they only carry pelican the last 2 distributers only carried pelican they sell them as camera cases

Just got in the long 1750 pelican case in for my LR-308 and I have a newbie question on this I read somewhere on the internet that you should cut out a small piece of foam for the "plug"? Does that have anything to do with the air tight device and the hole inside it?
