  • windows 10 - Bash error and WSL not working - Ask Ubuntu
From the comments (edited into the main question), we did determine that you can still launch usr bin sh, which means that at least that shell is available It's possible that you simply deleted the symlink from bin to usr bin, and we could easily recreate it if that were the case
  • Troubleshooting Windows Subsystem for Linux | Microsoft Learn
If you cannot access WSL using \\wsl$ on Windows, it could be because 9P did not start correctly To check this, you can check the start up logs using: dmesg |grep 9p, and this will show you any errors

  • windows subsystem for linux - lt;3 gt;WSL (12) ERROR . . . - Super User
So after uninstalling Zsh, WSL is still attempting to start it but failing to find it This would be the same with "normal" Debian as well, but with a slightly different message WSL makes it a bit easier to recover, though Try: Set it to usr bin bash and then try starting again
  • Docker Desktop with WSL2 Unable to Start - Stack Overflow
This is listed under "Enable integration with additional distros", but it only lists my default here! For me, both of these were not set and it failed to mount my distro, just like the OP Now everything is working Perhaps a reinstall enables these by default

Whenever I run bash on a Windows terminal, I get hit with this ERROR: CreateProcessCommon:559: execvpe ( bin bash) failed: No such file or directory I've installed WSL and enabled dev mode Please clarify your specific problem or provide additional details to highlight exactly what you need
