I use Miracle Grow if I can not get the first but that is an every two week job and can become expensive 5-10-5 is another fertilizer I can use that is not too expensive I grow veggies and irises and other perennials so the fertiizer must be mostly compatible for palnts are mixed english cottage style

Any even fertilizer is fine You don't want to over-fertilize, because that causes a lot of leaf growth, which may encourage rot, but the fertilizer itself won't Beardless iris tend to be heavier feeders, thus need more fertilizer, but all irises want a little fertilizer now and then!
