Retropie is also great and can often be tweaked to a point where it runs some games better than Recalbox It has a little more overhead at the start, but can be pruned down

Batocera provides a much, MUCH better user experience than others overall which is why I use it however its efforts to work around RetroArch's nightmarish configuration spaghetti while effective do add an extra layer to things under the hood which can be confusing as heck (at first) for anyone intent on tinkering, and the smaller community compared to RetroPie make it harder to get answers
