I changed my skin on minecraft It loaded and all, but it's on classic model, even though I set it to be on slim model I've changed it many times to slim and when i join a server it's still on classic model Any ideas of why is it happening and how do I fix it?

I want to start playing on an old beta alpha world like I see others playing on this subreddit, but I don't know which one to to do? I don't really know much about each version of the old beta alpha versions as I started in Minecraft 1 2 5, so I'd love for some suggestions I'd prefer if the version wasn't too barebones, but still needs to have that Classic old Minecraft look and feeling

Of course, you posted this in the Java discussion section - the edition that allows you to play any version you want, completely nullifying any reason to release a "classic" version when you can even play the original "classic", even so far back that there wasn't much more than grass and cobblestone
