The eagerly awaited tender for technical support and logistics for the Australian Maritime Safety Authority’s (AMSA) maritime aids to navigation network is now officially open on AusTender This expansive network includes some of Australia’s oldest lighthouses, marine buoys and beacons, automatic identification systems for boats and ships

These sites require removal in their entirety and be replaced with floating Aid to Navigation buoys The current Mobilis Jet 5000 buoys will be replaced with the Mobilis Jet 7000 HV buoys The Mobilis Jet 7000 HV buoys AMSA now proposes to undertake a project to replace remove the above-mentioned Aids to Navigation

The AtoN Network administered by AMSA consists of about 480 aids to navigation located at about 360 sites around Australia’s coastline which assist mariners to make safe and efficient passages (all to be tendered through AusTender), including regional essential maintenance contracts and a centralised technical support and logistics contract

Under a new regional model for service delivery, these contracts cover specific groupings of aids to navigation around Australia There are 8 regions in total, with 5 of these opening on AusTender today and the remaining 3, plus a separate contract for technical support and logistics, expected to open soon as well
