In this paper, we chart the frequency of journal articles featuring various psychoanalytic terms in the literature over time We hope that our data, which we intend to publish online in a customizable, open-source format, might motivate thoughtful discussion, and perhaps novel and useful re-interpretations of the history of psychoanalytic theory
