Looking for a lacquer that matches close to the d 80 s red oxide primer it has a washed out pinkish hue I am restoring an old shoe box like my first car it was primer 55 years ago I have a replacement car everything about the car is done in the same fashion but without the oxide primer ,Appreciate any input you can offer thanks

depends on the primer you use If it's just normal spray can primer, then it'll rust after a while If you use a good two part automotive primer, it can last for years my 55 has been wearing the same DuPont Uro primer for over a decade (sprayed on over bare metal), no rust and it's been in the weather and stored outside quite a bit

I drive a red oxide primered El Camino everyday (it came that way), if it were shiney I'd leave it alone It is your truck, and red oxide primer is the best color of primer I doubt if a beer company would have painted their logo on top of bare primer back in the 50's You truck wouldn't even have been that old back then
