As a native who speaks Korean, I never thought H-Mart's Korean name (한아름 마트) or "Han Ah Reum Mah Teu (Mart)" was "armful (of groceries)" I always thought it was a Korean English portmanteau of "Han Ah" (one in Korean) and "Reum" ("Room" in English, but spelled using Korean characters), essentially meaning "One Room Mart", since the stores are typically one giant room, like a Costco
