Telegram Desktop: if your mic isn't working and nothing helps Alright, so this is just a helpful post for google to index, cause it took me a while to get to the bottom of this So for some reason Telegram on Windows 10 wasn't picking up the mic, even though every other app did The obvious things to do:

But don’t forget you can also get the Telegram Portable version, which acts as a separate entity from the regular Desktop app So that’s another 3 accounts Not sure what the Mac ecosystem is like right now, but last time I checked there were two apps you could install as well, meaning both Desktop options net you 6 accounts

In order to run Telegram Desktop in the tray at the first launch, you need to go to the Telegram exe shortcut properties and set "Run: Minimized" That's all But this doesn't work with Telegram Desktop from the Microsoft Store Even if you choose "minimized", the app will still run as usual
