- Fix site user ID mismatch in SharePoint or OneDrive
When users try to access a SharePoint site or their OneDrive site by using their new account, their new ID doesn't match the ID that's in the UserInfo list Therefore, they're denied access to the site

The Site Collection is given a new GUID, but the GUID for the root web is copied from the site master So, in SharePoint Online all your Site Collections with a root site of type Team Site will have the same id

As far as I know, after changing the SharePoint site domain name, generally, it will not create a duplicated root site automatically and you need to meet the following requirement to replace the root site
