What is the difference between the Trilogy and BiBPAP systems? Can you buy a Trilogy or do you have to rent one? Thanks
- Trilogy vs. Avaps? | ALS Forums
The Trilogy has an AVAPS (Average Volume Assured Pressure Support) feature mode It estimates the patient's tidal volume with each breath and compares it with the target tidal volume The AVAPS Rate setting allows you to adjust the maximum rate at which the pressure support automatically changes to achieve the target tidal volume

I am on hospice and still use my AVAP You might want to check with other hospice providers My pulmonologist prescribed me a big bottle of morphine, low dose, before I went on hospice Thee hospice team also provided high dose morphine It supresses my ability to cough so I only use the low dose occasionally when thd pain levels affect sleep
- AVAPS? Anyone using one? | ALS Support Community
An AVAP estimates the patient's tidal volume with each breath and compares it with the target tidal volume If necessary, the algorithm slowly increases or decreases inspiratory pressure for each breath

Hi everyone- I recieved my Bipap Avap machine last week The masks are kind of a pain, you look like you are about to go scuba diving! Anyway, I feel much better during the day and if i get short of breath I will use it while watching TV or just relaxing My cough assits comes tomorrow

I was prescribed bipap a few months ago Apria delivered a Respironics Bipap AVAP machine which I only use in bipap mode If I never get a trache, will I ever have use for the AVAP feature? In other words are any of you using AVAPS with a mask? Maybe I would breath even better in that mode? On
- Trilogy settings - what do you recommend? | ALS Forums
My wife recently got a Trilogy I've attached pictures of her prescription The DME set it up and my wife tried the settings briefly when we picked it up On further inspection, the setting were not good (The night time setting might be good if you wanted to run a marathon while sleeping

The AVAP has the feature of being able to set highs and lows but then it automatically adjusts pressures based on individual needs Was a game changer for me as the BiPAP was causing me to hyperventilate in certain situations
