The truth here is that when you add a shared folder to your account, the folder will take up space in your account as well, not just the owner's Since you only need view download access, though, the owner of the folder can send you a "view-only" link instead, which won't affect your available space at all I hope this helps! I find it incredibly frustrating that I cannot view images in a folder by grid The idea of creating an album for each folder seems crazy -- especially as those folders seem to be on a per account basis rather than across our cloud storage
