Often times, there is availability for double occupancy - but Tauck does not allow ‘single occupancy’ when all of the allocated ‘single occupancy’ category have been reserved I have been in this situation - after this happened to me the first time (I had to switch my preferred travel date), I reserve as soon as possible or switch dates

Remember there is a difference between (optional) "small group" tours vs tours that are small group by design and don't have a larger group option Best of Ireland, Ultimate Alps, England Scotland Wales, Classic Italy, Romantic Germany, Jordan Egypt, etc have regular size group tours (averaging 44 guests) and small group tours (averaging 24 guests) Other tours, like Yellowstone in Winter

Generally, Tauck tours have some meals where you all eat together Some where you have a choice of restaurant and choose the time to eat, only very occasionally is there a cash limit, for instance if there is a super expensive item on the menu And some where you are free to eat where and whenever you want at your own expense

For my husband and I yes We've done back-to-back tours totally 4 weeks away with only one large bag each and one visit to a laundromat But I've also heard of people combining a tour with some other plans like attending a special event or traveling to some region with completely different weather requiring additional wardrobe items

The majority of tours I have taken with Tauck have been in Europe where the hotels have been of a much higher standard There are a number of companies offering a similar itinerary and I would advise any prospective travellers to go with them, it isn't worth paying a premium to travel with Tauck in this area

I just looked at a couple of tours cruises that I have scheduled for the future If you don't have the Tauck protection plan, you lose your deposit if you cancel 60 days or more for a land tour and 120 days or more for a cruise
