  • When did vinyl switch from “Side One Two” to “A B Side”?
2 Not sure if this is universal but I’ve been going through some of my dad’s records (late ‘60s to ‘80s) and I’ve noticed that all of his vinyls describe the first side as “Side One” and the back side as “Side Two”, where my vinyls (mid 2000s-today) equivalently describe the respective sides as “A side” and “B side”

What is your definition of a b-side, and why? • What is a B side of an album? : r NoStupidQuestions - Reddit
On the second side - the B side - you might put "deep cuts", or songs the band liked; but might not get as much popularity and airplay Sometimes the B side of an album or a single was a surprise hit
  • What constitutes as a B-side? : r kpophelp - Reddit
In Western music, B-sides were originally the songs on the second side of a vinyl record or cassette Most of the time, the main single was on the A-side, but B-side has since become known in western music as the non-promoted songs in the album since western artist usually promote more than one song from an album ep as a single
