Just for clarification, ANSYS CFX never converts the original mesh into a polyhedral mesh explicitly, i e it discretizes the equation on each element sector around a node, and creates discrete equations around a node of the original mesh

So once I did face this problem in a large assembly with multiple parts in a wide range of sizes The mesher successively failed although repair geometry could help solve problem in the Space Claim Geometry interface in ANSYS 18 1 by creating solid bodies from surfaces

If you are using a newer version of Mechanical (2019 R2 and after) which has the new GUI with the ribbon layout then cores are set in the Home tab If you click on the lower right-hand corner of the Solve area it opens the Solve Process Settings box as in the older ANSYS versions

The ANSYS Workbench 15 0 was installed on Linux suse (11 4) When I open Meshing after importing the geometry file, there is a warning: "The shared license is currently not available for this application", as show in Figure 1 The console message show in Figure 2 However, all the other ANSYS software (DM, ICEM CFD, Fluent) are working correctly

Until now, I have primarily used ANSYS Meshing for creating CFD meshes While I wouldn't claim my meshes were perfect, most of my simulations were successful with meshes from ANSYS Meshing I usually created tetrahedral meshes and converted them to polyhedral in FLUENT and OpenFOAM

I uninstalled then reinstalled ANSYS and now it works There are a few known issues when installing ANSYS on Windows 7 The problem seemed to be that ANSYS was installed in C:\Users\username instead of Program Files To avoid this problem, you have to turn off User Account Control and IPv6 before installing ANSYS Thanks again Ali for your help
