A bug was introduced in Arduino IDE 2 3 3 that caused the IDE to display the upload success notification even when the upload failed This bug has now been fixed

The alternative is to configure Arduino IDE to use different paths on your computer, which are not under the user folder (and that only contain basic ASCII characters): These instructions will only work for Arduino IDE versions 2 3 4 or newer

I tried to install Arduino IDE 2 3 6 and 2 3 2 for Arduino Uno on Windows 11 Enterprise laptop In both cases, a pulsing icon appeared when starting the IDE I followed the instructions in post #5 and have attached the output (it was too big to put under ) A couple of more notes but I'm not sure if they are relevant:

If you click that button, Arduino IDE will no longer show the dialog for the specific newer version being offered at the time you click the button The dialog will appear once again each time Arduino releases a new version of Arduino IDE, so you will need to click the button again after each release
