I'm when out shooting with my 1933 m91 30 a couple days ago and I found out that opening the bolt on that thing was a bear! My first one has always worked just fine I hear polishing the chamber with some bore bright will help it out quite a bit True? Also, I have a decent background in machining and tool die work, but I wouldn't concider myself much of a gunsmith How snug should the brass

257 Roberts is a tad light for black bear, but in today's world, unless you are reloading - ammo will be scarce and expensive Go w 243 or 6mm - I would not be adverse to using it on anything up to whitetail mule deer sized animals

I recently bought a Ruger Super RedHawk Alaskan 44 mag (2 5" barrel) for use as a backup in the mountains for bear, mountain lions, etc It was brought to my attention on how much performance is lost with the short barrel Besides going to a 6" plus barreled revolver in 44 mag or larger, would the 10mm in a semi auto (5" barrel) outperform the short barreled 44 mag? Obviously a larger 44 mag
