I'm seeing videos now of well known Bee experts like Bob Binnie talking about using Scott's Grub x for small hive beetle larvae They say it's not harmful to our bees in controlled amounts They are even talk8ng about using it in pollen patties to kill the beetles but not hurt the bees

Bees are there constantly, even though they are only about 100 feet from the lake where they get all the water they want Personally I know that a certain number of bees from each hive go out and seek salt If one don't provide a safe (preferably sea-salt) they will go on the P-puddles, manure and such places where salt is available

Should I extract and bottle what I can and feed the rest back to the bees somehow? How do I know if my frames are fomenting and if it is still good? This year I am getting 3 nucs to replace deadout hives Of course, these nucs come with 5 frames I will put those 5 frames in the center of the dead out hive (after removing 5 frames of drawn comb)

Bees are attracted to smelly liquids If your go back in the Beesource archives you can find more examples where bees rather slurp horse piss, bird bath water, swimming pool water, clothes washer discharge than what we perceive to be the good stuff that comes out of a tap
- When exactly do they begin laying Winter bees?
I keep hearing people say they are laying Winter bees already, I'm thinking It's still early In NC they say to have mite treatments done by the end of September, I figure that is so the bees that raise the Winter bees will be disease free What do ya'll think?
