I use YouVersion whenever I need to quickly look up a passage and I don't have a paper Bible with me I use it as an audio Bible when taking walks in nature as well But when I want to look in it a bit more closely I use Blue Letter Bible with 2 KJV ESV parallel and their great interlinear, cross reference, and commentaries I try using the Logos app as well, but it's less geared to phones

I read the CNET article the OP posted and it's actually favorable to youversion It does identify issues with the app from a technical perspective and follows up by commending their response to the article and highlighting their integrity in protecting users and not selling data Give it a read
