Accidental grounding with bilge keels can become a real snafu I saw a boat lost on a Mexican beach cuz the bilge keels anchored it ! Last winter I watched a deep (single) keel boat get smashed to pieces in the surf zone off Waikiki when the keel got hung up on the bottom, something that likely would not have happened with shallower twin keels
