I would like to hear from others on the removal of very light rust on a blued surface I have, in the past, successfully done this starting with just an oily cotton cloth, to 0000 steel wool with oil, and so forth But I don't want to do any cosmetic damage, and I'd like to hear others'

I saw a blued 7 1 2" Redhawk 44 mag at the LGS today It was in great shape, asking price $895 I have the stainless version, but it would match my blued 41 mag I know everything gun related is high, but is this a reasonable price?

I'm getting ready to buy a GP100 and am trying to decide between stainless and blued My question is can you clean the residue off the face of the cylinder with some Hoppe's #9 and a BRASS BRUSH? Or will that remove the blueing? Thanks in advance for your answers
