Dreamweaver is no better than Notepad++ or Bluefish for cleaning it up Wouldn't a global search and replace clean it up just fine; by the page or throughout the site? The main problem would be how many garbage cleanups will be necessary You can only search and replace one problem at a time and there could be a lot of problems
- What code editor or IDE do you use? - Foo forum at WebmasterWorld . . .
Bluefish It's a pretty simple editor with an emphasis on projects not just single files Good syntax highlighting and one-click code insertion completion Mack
- Character encoding, entity references and UTF-8
I find this topic fascinating, but very confusing! I'm trying to get this right: I'm using gentoo linux (barely know how to use it though, someone else installed it) - and I see in bluefish in preferences, under encoding, the default character set is set to UTF-8 - so I guess I'm ok there And I've got charset=UTF-8 in my meta tags
- How Do You Build Webpages? - New To Web Development forum at . . .
Bluefish became my editor of choice Nowadays, I use Wordpress for new sites, though I am often disgusted at the shear size of the pages In fact, it is a disgrace how big webpages have become - and the vast majority do no more than they did 15 years ago, when they used 10 times less bandwidth
