Hi all! Definite newbie here trying to find some info from all of you seasoned pros! My grandfather passed and I inherited an old Sears jon boat with the following details: •Aluminum hull •12' length •42 25" transom •No HIN (pre-1974?) •Model #012803 (port bow) •2 seater •No other info I need

Re: HOW to remove old gas from internal gas tank the boat is out of the water and time get going on this project bummer- of course, the sending unit is someplace that is not easily accessible would hate to take off the helm so that being said, can i pull the fuel from the line that leaves the tank and hits the water fuel sep??

You've got to remember that most boat's plugs cannot be easily reached from the inside The advantage though to inside is you can literally use it to get water out With a boat on plane water will rush out of the drain hole, so if you have a leak or take on a lot of water in a small boat without a bilge pump you can get her on a slow plane

Currently in the process of restoring building an aluminum boat and have been converting it from an I O, closed bow to an outboard, open bow for fishing I've got my open bow bracing and structural stuff figured out But im trying to get a sense of what i need to do for the transom knee brace

Re: what kind of primers better on Aluminum boat? I can't answer your question directly, but I learned the hard way, long ago, that paints with certain metals should not be used on aluminum hulls, so be sure to do your homeowrk

Usually you will be to big once you get to 28ft At that point you could be getting to wide depending on the manufacture Some will be 8 6 wide,some wider The widest allowed on the highway without permits is 8ft 6in (102wide) Beyond 28 ft you will most likely be to wide Length will not be a issue For practicality 26 ft would be the limit Also you
