The numbers I'm getting dont seem to match anything I have a 3 gang box with: 2 x 12 2 (4 x 2 25) 3 x 14 2 (6 x 2 00) 3 devices - 2 conductors each, so is it (6 x 2 25) or (4 x 2 25 + 2 x 2 00)? internal clamps (2 25) Largest ground (2 25)

Using this box fill calculator I get 126 CI I don't believe spliced wires also count as as "terminated" so you may be duplicating wires

Hello I'm considering installing a 3 gang metal box, flush to wooden studs With a 1 2" depth 2 gang box extension ring So the finished wall will have a 2 gangs, but actually 3 behind the wall The purpose is for box capacity I know this will technically work, assuming the extension fits
