  • East Brixton station (formerly Loughborough Park): abandoned station . . .
It's a question of money A new station on the high level line would be very expensive, and would almost certainly have to be part of a large-scale redevelopment of the surrounding sites Central govt or TfL funding is highly unlikely
  • Brixton Central Masterplan - discussion | urban75 forums
For Brixton to "succeed", for the existing businesses - the people who are already invested in the place - to make a living it needs people who live in the area and come there from elsewhere, to spend money with them It needs to be an attractive place to spend time which needs ongoing investment
  • East Brixton station (formerly Loughborough Park): abandoned station . . .
East Brixton is a walkable distance to central Brixton and it's actually more equally spaced between the existing overground stops at Denmark Hill Clapham North than central Brixton is (especially if you take into account the night time barrier to walking formed by Ruskin Park)
  • East Brixton station (formerly Loughborough Park): abandoned station . . .
East Brixton station didn't though 1953 Railway Magazine article about the line here (opens as pdf) I have a faint recollection of having seen a 1980s re-print of the timetable leaflet from 1909 (when the south london line was electrified) - I expect copies of this leaflet turn up now and then second hand
  • Coldharbour Lane, Brixton - news and updates - urban75. net
Dear Helen Hayes MP I am writing in response to your Member’s Enquiry regarding reports of gatherings causing noise disturbances due to loud amplified music outside Southwyck House, Southwyck House Estate, Brixton SW9, also at the junction of Moorland Road and Coldharbour Lane Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention
  • Popes Road, Brixton: the former railway station building Brixton . . .
Has any building in Brixton been emptier longer than this big eyesore on Pope’s Road? This large office building adjacent to Brixton railway station has been slowly rotting away on Pope’s Road for decades
