- How early to arrive at CDG airport? - Rick Steves Travel Forum
I always allow an hour for getting to CDG and plan to get to the airport three hours ahead of my flight That way if it only takes 45 minutes to get to the airport, you have “won” 15 minutes … instead of thinking it will take 30 minutes and it actually taking an hour and therefore being 30 minutes later than you wanted to be
- How long to clear customs and baggage at Charles de Gaulle?
I've done this in under an hour, but my flight landed at Terminal 2 and I took just carry-on luggage Three hours should be plenty, even if you land at Terminal 1 and have to take the shuttle (CDGVAL) to the Terminal 2 TGV station Because CDG is a confusing airport, it's a good idea to get the lay of the land on a website first

- How much time to get to TGV after arriving at CDG?
The 11:22 train is better to allow for delays and your lack of familiarity with the airport Three hours is the generally advised amount of time to allow between your flight's ETA and the scheduled departure for a train from CDG so 94 minutes is a pretty bad idea
- Is CDG a Bad Airport to Connect Through? - Rick Steves
There certainly are better airports for connecting flights My favorites are Munich and Zurich CDG is about average, on par with say Frankfurt, but all else being equal, I avoid CDG and Heathrow as a transit airport between home and Europe This summer it is bad all over Europe from the news reports, something to consider
