  • Chamois vs. Flannel - Mens Clothing Forums
Chamois shirts sell for more, are usually solid in color and are sometimes thicker than shirts labeled as flannel I suspect at the end of the packing line somewhere in asia, boxes labeled flannel go to low end stores that sell to construction workers and boxes labeled chamois, go to high end stores
  • A trip through Chamois Cloth Shirts, and some questions. . .
An L L Bean classic Introduced in 1927 as the "Leatherette Shirt", a wind-resistant lightweight alternative to buckskin, renamed "Chamois Cloth" for the Spring 1933 catalog, in, I imagine, the original color, Tan (1960) By 1960, another color had crept in - Bright Red (1964) Status
  • Bean Chamois shirt; made in the USA and size 17, how old?
Stumbled upon a yellow or chamois color LL Bean Chamois, fabric made in Canada, shirt made in the USA and the size listed is 17, how old is this shirt? Another thing to note, it is much slimmer in the body and arms than any other chamois shirt I've seen
  • LL Bean Chamois Fit help please - Mens Clothing Forums
The Bean chamois has always been a sportman's shirt, and a spread or straight collar is (trad)itional on such a shirt, just as it is on a poplin safari shirt Not every shirt from the Ivy zenith of the 1950's and early 60's had a button-down collar Oxford cloth shirts, yes--outdoorsmen's shirts, not so much
  • LL Bean Chamois Cloth Shirts | Mens Clothing Forums
Gentlemen I know that spring is upon the Northern Hemisphere but here in the Antipodes winter is rapidly advancing Quick question do the LL Bean Chamois shirts shrink? Just wondering if this is a consideration when choosing a size ? thanks
  • Moleskin vs. Bills Chamois Cloth - Mens Clothing Forums
Bill's Chamois Cloth, however seems to be a thinner material than what is used on regular Bill's Khakis (8 5-oz twill versus 6+oz twill) EDIT: Anyone know of a good source for a nice thick pair of moleskins preferably in a British Khaki color? How about a pair of brushed cotton twill pants (similar in thickness and softness to moleskins)?
  • What are moleskins? | Mens Clothing Forums
What are moleskins? Are they waxed? Can they be waxed? Are they water repellent? Are they warm? Are they usually lined with flannel?
  • LL Bean chamois shirt rant - Mens Clothing Forums
I've always worn and always been a fan of LL Bean's flannel shirts- for my money, you can't beat the feel and the warmth of the fabric or the classic patterns So at the end of last winter (February-ish), I decided to branch out and purchase my first chamois shirt from them- this beautiful apple cinnamon plaid that screams "fall": the shirt is amazing I was advised prior to ordering the shirt
