For the past couple of months I had this issue with my 3 year old PC where the fans randomly speed up, mostly during boot and then randomly while its idle or while Im playing Now, Im not really sure if its just the case fans, CPU fan or both But is it something to be concerned about? While playing, I noticed that my PC fans were speeding up and slowing down what I considered to be pretty randomly I figured it was since I had a lot of the graphics turned up pretty high so I turned some of them down but the fans still seemed to be fluctuating in rpm's

The title pretty much explains my problem After the screen goes Black an the fans speed up, I can only hold the off button to shut the PC down I saw multiple persons on different forums having the same issue, but the reason seems different, so maybe some here can help me

Cpu gpu start working harder and generate more heat, temps go up, fans go brrrr to try and bring temps back down You can adjust the fan curve so they don't go full speed as quickly

This happens with computers Even when you're not at your pc it is running processes which will usually spike the voltage and in turn the temperature There's usually a setting in your fan control software called hysteresis or temperature hysteresis which can compensate with how quickly your fans will react to temperature changes

If something was overheating, I'm pretty sure the PC would just power off completely The reason the fans run at full blast is because whatever is controlling the fan speed stopped responding I would say it sounds more like a motherboard or CPU problem, but I can't be sure

After PC crashes, I have to physically hard reboot (desktop power button) After the reboot, PC runs fine, nothing out of the ordinary Then hours later (maybe a day or two later even), same symptoms appear - randomly crashes No idea what would trigger it Tried multiple graphics driver reinstallation as well as Windows update so far
