The lowly, non-TGP approved Celestion eight 15 covers a lot of bases! Very nice clean tone, bright, but not ice-picky with fat yet tight bass For 100% vintage fender tones there are better choices, but a few simple amp mods can bring the celestion into that ballpark However, hit it with some distortion and it sounds phenomenal, really!

Finally got my hands on a Celestion Ruby to compare to the other three AlNiCos - definitely a different sounding speaker to the others but certainly has its strengths, especially for higher gain sounds Let me know what you think!

A Celestion rep said in a thread that they will be made with the same parts in the UK as they were in China I think they are working toward only having the cheaper Celestion speakers made in China in the future (70 80, etc ), but that's just a guess on my part

For the last 2-3 years I’ve been running a Celestion Creamback 65 watt G12M in my original non-reverb 1964 Fender Deluxe Seems to fit the volume levels I need with the bands I play with currently, retains a nice clean tone but still handles dirt well As a bonus it’s quite lightweight

Yup, Celestion Cream + Deluxe Reverb = Perfection I liked the Gold a wee bit more when I was playing Tele exclusively, but the Cream's never coming out!

For better cleans the Jensen Mod 12 was a good fit It did similar to the orig speaker on the higher gain channels, not quite the upper treble range though Celestion V30- was actually darker than I expected Handled the K100 power though Celestion 70 80- was about the best happy medium or all around fit for those oem channels
