Some goofball pulling out his loaded carry piece to show off, compare with the latest model, get an offer, etc, is probably a much greater likelyhood in a gun store than any other place Then you have a loaded gun mixed into an environment that is supposed to consist entirely of unloaded guns Bad thing Seems like I remember a long thread about an AD at Bass Pro Shop somewhere where this

The mark up on the firearms was high but that's common for larger retailers like Bass Pro Shop Gander Mountain They cater to the YUPPIES, new shooters gun owners those who are swayed by the "down home", hunting cabin motif

Donkee- I am semi familiar with Fenton, though I do have to admit I mostly stick to the Davison Burton Flint area Occasionally I will head down to use the Indoor range at the Bass Pro Shop at Great Lakes Crossing (only shot my Remington Model 597 22 rinfire rifle there, haven even had my WASR-10 a month yet)

I'm in the minority - you'll see the Bass Pro Cabela whiners seem to like to hijack these threads My problem with Bass is how they ship ammo, much more so than service I receive at my local store That being said, I am usually a fan of shopping local stores if the price differential is minimal, or of course if the local shop is cheaper

But they're no worse in that regard that Bass Pro Shop or Cabelas, and their reloading supplies are the cheapest around All in all, I like 'em They're a nice resource to have, especially since most of the big sporting goods chains seem to be slowly distancing themselves from firearms

I live in Denver, Colorado and have had some good 'smithing done at Bass Pro, but I also know that working on Colts requires a gunsmith with a lot of experience The Cobra and Diamondback are a joy to shoot, and the Python is on it's way to Colorado I expect to fire most rounds through the Diamondback, though I carry the Cobra frequently
