I have a 2025 RAM 2500 with the 6 7L Cummins engine and I want to make sure I use the right motor oil and I've always used Shell Rotella I looked in the owner's manual and searched for the correct motor oil that meets the proper specifications Shell Rotella 10w-30 T6 lists every spec except

The 2019 CGI Cummins doesn't call for 15W40 at all I assume this is because of the hydraulic roller lifters, instead of the old reliable flat tappets I plan to run either Rotella T6 5W40 or Valvoline Premium Blue Extreme 5W40, both are full synthetic, and easy to find If Schaeffer's 9000 was more readily available I'd definitely consider it

So I had a Gen4 cummins Now I have a Gen5 6 7L cummins in my new 2500 So I see that the recommended oil is now either 10w-30, or 5w-40 The thing is I have a lot of the rotella 15w-40 oil in jugs still Should I not use this in the summer season?
