I was looking for something and i discovered that DBAN (Darik's Boot and Nuke) is not certified to meet any destruction requirements like HIPAA or NIST If they did it would leave them open to legal questions and the defer you to 3rd party's This was news to since i have seen it used in the past by DoD Organizations because it clearly lists a dod wipe option but its not certified for it
