I actually think that 1980 was a great year for Technics stuff It is when I bought my first amp, the Technics SU-V2 (40 WPC) I also believe that it was the year that the New Class A stuff came out I recently picked up an SU-V6 and it is built like a tank and weighs in at almost 30 pounds
