I had an account with direct tv over 4 years ago I cancelled that account and there was a remaining balance I was contacted by a debt collector 2 years ago and settled the debt with them for a portion of the amount that was originally due I received in writing that it was "settled" and direct tv accepted the money

When setting through your bank remember it is DirecTV, not Direct TV Also be cautious as since your bank doesn't get your bills, they don't know the exact amount of it and can only pay what you designate So if you setup a recurring payment that ends up being less than what is owed, any past due consequences are on you
