Re: How many discus in a 40G breeder tank? I use a 40 breeder for a QT tank but ideally discus should be in tanks that are at least 3' long preferably 4' (could you imagine walking around in small circles your entire life?) Also discus need at least 10 gal each I would not keep adults in there and it is a bad idea to have less than 6 discus together (could lead to serious aggression problems)

09-16-2006, 11:05 AM Re: Yo-Yo loaches and discus I kept clown loaches and discus together for years and never had a problem with them either The clowns tend to get a little bit active at night when the discus are zoned out, but my discus learned to tune them out I never saw any of my clowns chasing and or nipping at discus like these yo-yo's

Re: Mixing different size discus There are a few things that aren't a good reason for doing that 1 The bigger discus will out compete the smaller discus in feedings which will make the smaller discus get weak and possibly get sick 2 There will be aggression in the tank with the bigger discus to the smaller discus 3 Before you add new discus to your 180 gallon tank you need to quarantine
