I have installed Elmer on my Ubuntu 12 04 configuration I tried then to create the geometry with Elmer modeler but on the Elmer modeler window no command appear but Editor with 2 tabs (one is Points with Idx, x, y, the other is Curve with out, in, pts, p1, p2, p3), and nothing happens by picking with the mouse

The diffusive flux in this steady state is homogeneous over all the space , so don't blame the discretization or integration problems The total mass is trivial to integrate with this very simple linear concentration profile reported by Elmer (so don't blame the grid) but the result of the integral given by Elmer is orders of magnitude wrong

If you run Elmer with ElmerGui, it produces a solver log file after the simulation is complete I am wondering whether the information recorded in the solver log file can be retrieved or saved into a txt fiel if Elmer is run from the command window

I know that Elmer supports solvers for shell-elements and 'usual' solvers for 3D-domains Is it possible to combine both sort of solvers in one model? Consider e g a model of a cube where the top 'face' or its mesh elements is used for a simulation with shell elements introducing eg thermal influx
