I’ve been on Eliquis since 2019 for second incidence of bi-lateral lung clots I’ve asked pcp to reduce to 2 5 mg twice per day from 5 0 mg twice per day Just wondering if anyone has reduced their dosage and pros cons of doing so

I had blood clots (bilateral pulmonary embolisms) three months post Covid shot in 2021 Was put on 5mg Eliquis twice daily I had all kinds of leg pain and issues walking Changed hematologists who then decided to cut dosage in half Am now on maintenance dosage of Eliquis 2 5mg twice daily Am doing much better

Because of its half life Eliquis is taken 2 twice a day whether you take 2 5 or 5 mg it needs to be taken twice a day While you are out of rhythm it is best to stay on the blood thinner That is when you are at the greatest risk although there is a time period (which I do not remember) that you are still at risk to develop a clot after stopping

I had an episode of Atrial Fib (resolved completely for 3 5 months) and was placed on Eliquis 5 mg, twice a day Within 2 weeks I had a bizarre onset of severe numbness in my toes A week later I started having muscle spasms all over my body and some weakness too
