Apart from one small section of one set of points, your solution worked well Thank you to both glad to have helped BTW I bought the 1200 grit paper from Toolstation It's much cheaper than Halfords (£2 60 for 10 sheet vs £2 99 for 4 sheets) I use Toolstation for most of my DIY-type purchases due to the very good prices Don't have a Toolstation so postage, Halfords next

i will also change the solder from a lead free to the 40 60 one sold in halfords i may even pull up the tracks and solder the bottom of the rails its a bit fiddly trying to solder a horizontal surface (the side of the rail) in my opinion

My practice is to carefully remove any parts you do not wish to be painted [or mask them off], strip the body using Mr Muscle Oven Cleaner, wash the body thoroughly, spray it with Halfords' Grey or Red Oxide primer and then apply your top coat You may need more than one top coat depending on the colour and density of the paint
