However, I can't imagine that the escribe software is looking for the text string of Vendor and Device label rather than the hexadecimal reverence to the same

Regarding the disappearing profile, the box isn't checked, and in fact, the profile appears and then disappears intermittently when I'm using the box, and I have to reset the settings with escribe
