I just used our internal Windows-CA to create a certificate for our internal server "hdl-diamant" When calling the website using "https: hdl-diamant", I do get "ERR_CERT_COMMON_NAME_INVALID" in Edge (Chromium), Chrome and Firefox

@kpa: If you happened to have a self-signed certificate that was created before the change linked below the newer browsers definitely didn't like it because they now require the FQDN of the system in the SubjectAltName field of the certificate

I managed to discover the cause, that being, the WAC SSL Web Server PKI certificate I created from my AD CS certificate issuing IIS server didn't have a 'Subject Alternative Name' attribute within the certificate
