Ninite automates installation of publicly available software packages that most likely contain msi files If you are paranoid, download the msi files yourself (you should be anyways) and then you have version change control

Sourceforge started losing traffic though and their pulled their adware thingy So, in the end you can't really trust it but, currently, the chances of Ninite betraying you is the same as any of the proprietary software you can download from Ninite
