The reason I am trying to host the knob family onto the "Front" work plane in the door family is that the door family is swappable, and the "Front" work plane can be in a different place depending on the style of the door A flush door has the knob mounted to the flush face, but a shaker-style door should have the knob mounted to the recessed

I swear that in a prior version of Fusion 360, the Extrude command (in Model) had an angle manipulator that let you pick the extrusion direction Now it seems as though that is missing and right-angle extrusions are the only possible kind Am I imagining that?

At first the splitface operations where fast but got slower each time I then started dong the offset faces and that was very slow and got slower each time For the screencast I changed the process and do the offset face command immediately after after each split face That is worling well initially but seems to be slowing down again

My problem was that I confused "Split Face" with the "Split Element" tool Select a Wall > select "Split Face" (icon looks like a 90's computer screen) > go to a corner and draw a singular, diagonal line > select "Finish Edit Mode" (Screenshot attached) Now, magically, the reveals separate the exterior face of the wall for materials to be applied

There are approaches with "split face", but this only projects in parallel, so that it's not possible to really wrap the letters around It's not about putting the text along the length of the cylinder, but around the circle of the cylinder, e g around a cup And ideas? Thanks, Ralph
